The Yarmouth Board of Selectmen Tuesday recognized resident (YAG Member) Joan Shostak for her 20 years of service to the Educational Foundation for Dennis and Yarmouth.

In presenting the award, chairman Erik Tolley said the foundation has raised $64,000 for 137 grant applicants over the 20 years since Shostak and her late husband, Jerry, both educators, started the foundation. The foundation will award $5,000 in grants in December.

Selectwoman Suzanne McAuliffe, who was also involved in the foundation initially, noted that it was Jerry Shostak’s dream to support the little things that can’t be provided in the regular budget. “Countless students have benefited,” she said.

Christmas Party was a lot of fun!!!!!:
